£69,345 per annum
At the Royal Town Planning Institute (the RTPI), we champion the value of planning in building thriving places and communities. With over 27,000 members worldwide, we support planners at every stage of their career: raising professional standards, shaping planning policy, and proudly awarding chartered status, the highest professional accreditation in UK planning.
For over a century, we have empowered planners to deliver positive impact: creating healthy, inclusive, economically and environmentally sustainable places. As the voice of the profession, we advocate, support, and lead with purpose, professionalism, and passion.
We are looking to recruit a Head of Education to cover a period of maternity leave, on a fixed term contract. This role will suit an applicant with excellent understanding of higher education provision and professional and vocational education training and a good understanding of the nature of a professional institute, along with experience of line and project management.
In this role the tasks will include overseeing the RTPI’s education functions and leading and motivating the RTPI’s education team. You will support the Director of Careers, Education and Planning Aid England across the education remit, and working with other teams within the RTPI. You will act as lead officer for the RTPI’s Education and Lifelong Learning Committee and advocate for the RTPI’s education work internally and externally.
Applicants will need to have experience of successful multi-agency and partnership working and of managing budgets successfully. Excellent communication skills are essential, and a knowledge of UK planning systems would be particularly helpful. This is a senior role within the RTPI, requiring management of multiple projects simultaneously. Please refer to the job description for full details.
The RTPI has a positive, supportive and inclusive work environment that actively operates a policy of helping its employees at all levels to achieve professional growth. We seek to foster a collaborative and respectful work environment that promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
